Author Biographies

Hans van der Linden

vanderlinden.jpg Hans van der Linden has been working since 2005 at the Arts and Heritage agency of the Flemish Community in the Government of Flanders. Besides a day-to-day focus on digitisation within the cultural heritage field, he was also involved in advisory policy preparatory activities such as publications, studies and innovative projects. In 2007 Hans participated in creating the ?Europeana Vlaanderen Overlegplatform?, with the goal of facilitating knowledge exchange and discussion, and helping interested organisations find their way through the Europeana-related projects. In 2010 Hans was elected as one of the CCPA-officers represented within the Europeana Board.

Jef Malliet

malliet.jpg Jef Malliet, an engineer-architect by education, worked for more than 20 years in various projects and functions at ICCROM in Rome (International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property). Since 2005 he has been employed at the Provinciaal Centrum voor Cultureel Erfgoed in the Province of Limburg (Belgium), for the development of the heritage database/aggregator Erfgoedplus.be. He is actively involved in EuropeanaLocal and Europeana, and is chairman of the Ethics Working Group of the Europeana CCPA (Council for Content Providers and Aggregators).

Rony Vissers

vissers.jpg Rony Vissers is coordinator of PACKED vzw - centre of expertise in digital heritage (Brussels). PACKED vzw is involved in the ATHENA project as leader of WP6 - Analysis of IPR issues and definition of possible solutions (in collaboration with the University of Patras). It also coordinates the content contribution from cultural heritage institutions from Flanders and Brussels to ATHENA. PACKED vzw is also leader of Digitising Contemporary Art and partner in Linked Heritage, two projects that are supported by the European Commission within the framework of the ICT Policy Support Programme.
